Trump deportation executive action on Day 1?

This market will resolve to "Yes" if Donald Trump issues any executive order that aims to increase, enhance, or facilitate the deportation of illegal immigrants on January 20, 2025 ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". Trumps 2017 executive orders, such as Executive Order 13768, which expanded categories for prioritized deportation, or Executive Order 13767, which strengthened border security and detention capacities related to illegal immigration are examples of Executives orders which would qualify. This market's resolution source will be official information from the Trump administration.

Event Analysis

Summary

The prediction market focuses on whether Donald Trump will issue an executive order aimed at enhancing deportation efforts on January 20, 2025, his first day in office if elected president. Multiple reliable sources indicate Trump has explicitly stated his intention to launch "the largest deportation operation in American history" starting day one, with plans to declare a national emergency and mobilize military resources to support these efforts. The evidence strongly suggests Trump will take immediate executive action on immigration enforcement, given his consistent campaign messaging, appointment of immigration hardliners like Stephen Miller and Tom Homan to key positions, and detailed planning through initiatives like Project 2025. While implementation challenges exist, these would not prevent the issuance of an initial executive order that would satisfy the market's resolution criteria.

Prediction

I predict a 90% probability that Trump will issue an executive order enhancing deportation efforts on January 20, 2025. The combination of explicit statements, key appointments, detailed planning, and historical precedent provides strong evidence for immediate executive action. While implementation challenges exist, these would not prevent the issuance of an initial order meeting the market's criteria.
